I was born into a Christian home in India. When I was eight, our family emigrated to the US, and after a handful of moves, settled down in eastern Pennsylvania. Though we attended different churches growing up, and my parents were Christians, I did not know Jesus. During my first year at university, I met a girl who was a new believer and very excited about her faith. She led me to Jesus. On a Friday night in my dorm room, I believed. That night, I understood that Jesus, knowing everything about me, the real me behind all the masks, the very worst of me that no one could ever see, still loved me enough to give His life for me. That night, I gave Him my life, to do with whatever He wanted.
The following year, I transferred to a Christian college and began to study the Bible and to learn how to serve Him. After I finished, I sensed Him leading me to India and Nepal, where for the next two and half years, I served Him. During my last few months there, I met Stefanie. Two and a half years later, newly married, we returned to India and served there for the next seven. During our time there, we sensed Jesus leading us to work and serve Him as “tent-makers,” and I began to write software while we worked to plant and build the church. In 2007, we (by then, God had given us four beautiful children: Daniel, Noah, Elisha, and Anna) moved to Northern Virginia where I worked for both a very large, and later, a small company.
In 2012, we again sensed Him asking us to leave everything and return to India. We did. I continued to work for the same company while, once again, working to plant and build the church. We loved growing and serving and praying alongside our brothers and sisters there, as we used our gifts to draw others to Jesus. We saw Him do amazing things throughout our time there, and in 2017 returned to Northern Virginia to prepare and support our kids for their college journeys. Since joining ABC several years ago, we have felt again and again that we’ve come home. It has been pure joy to experience grace, to be encouraged and challenged to grow, and to use our gifts to walk with and serve Jesus together. He is really amazing!
