Our Mission

OUR HISTORY

In 1997, Ambassador Bible Church was born out of a vision to reach all ethnic groups in the diverse Washington D.C. metropolitan area, with a longing to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20) and portray a picture of heaven (Rev 7:9; 14:6).

OUR VISION

To be a church to call home...

The mission is why we exist. The vision is ABC’s unique contribution to the mission. We strive to fulfill the mission by being a church to call home. We see this vision being fulfilled in two primary ways:

  1. By being a community of rest and refuge for all people where genuine and caring relationships are nurtured.

  2. By being a home base for each person to be built up and equipped to make local and global gospel impact through word and deed.

CORE VALUES

All People

Biblical Truth

We believe that the Bible is God’s authoritative Word to us and thus is the absolute standard of truth for what we ought to believe, for how we ought to live, and for how we ought to function as a church. We are committed to upholding and honoring the Word of God by faithfully, accurately, and passionately teaching it so that we would “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Christ-centered, Caring Community

We believe that the Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation, but in community with one another. Our desire is to be a place where people can build friendship with one another, mutually love and care for one another, and “do life” together.

We believe in being a church for all peoples regardless of race, socio-economic status, or age. Our desire is to minister to whomever God brings to our church and to minister to those outside our church through the work of evangelism and missions.
