Ken Ahn

I have lived all my life in Northern VA except for attending college in upstate NY. I met my wife Judy here at Ambassador and we married in 1999. Currently living in South Riding, we are blessed and thankful to have both our young adult children, Andrew and Lindsey, back home after college. Judy has been a teacher at all school levels while I have worked as an ERP consultant for over 25 years. In my spare time, I enjoy going on walks with my wife, traveling, watching sports, and trying not to get injured playing on ABC’s softball team.

Though raised in the church, it was not until early in high school that I started a personal relationship with Christ. However, a perfectionist, performance-based faith and idol manufacturing heart led me to stray from the life-giving, sin-freeing power of the Gospel. By God’s faithfulness, mercy, and grace, the Lord brought me face to face with the sins of my heart, leading me to a recommitment of my life for the work of the Kingdom in His family, church, and community. Over the years at ABC, I have had the privilege of serving on the worship, sound, finance, and connections teams, and led a men’s small group for several years. I previously served as an elder at ABC from 2014 to 2020.

In January of 2021, I was diagnosed with leukemia and immediately underwent treatment including a bone marrow transplant. Due to the pandemic and the effects of treatment, I had to spend a period of time physically apart from ABC to protect my health. Overwhelmed by the love, encouragement, and support by ABC yet at the same time longing for community during this time, I was excited to resume being connected to the body in 2023. By God’s grace, I remain in remission and eagerly anticipate reaching the five year goal of being cancer free in 2026. I look forward to sharing life in Christ with you in both the beauty and mess our journeys bring.
